EUPHORIUM (viBe sad)
A downloadable book
100% of sales of this book will go to Darieon, a young Black man who was suddenly thrown into crowdfunding after losing his mother, the sole breadwinner of the family, during the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
After CPS told him they'd take his kid brother DJ away unless he was able to keep bills regularly paid, Darieon put all his efforts into getting his family's needs met, panhandling in the elements while searching for a job with no car on barely-functional Wi-Fi. Finally, he was able to get a job last year, but it doesn't pay enough and he still has to panhandle on the side. He doesn't keep as regular a digital presence anymore since his crowdfunding posts have generally not translated to donations.
As of time posted, he still needs $315 more in rent due March 1. If you want to support him directly, please direct all funds to:

Anything helps! A few cents, $1, $5, it all adds up.
About the book
EUPHORIUM (viBe sad) is the first novella in a 30-book series that can be written by anyone, including you. Especially you!
This purchase includes two downloads: the final, typeset version as a PDF, as well as the original final manuscript, complete with my (very messy!) handwritten notes.
Here's the story (excerpt from pages 8-9):
"Euphorium by genesis genesis
Euphorium, the first book in the popular Sensorium series, is set in Humboldt Lagoons, California, in a dystopian 2045. It tells the story of a cat-and-mouse chase between Terra, a criminal counterfeiter, and Sterling, the FBI agent tasked with catching her—a dangerous dynamic that leads the pair across the California coast, and into an eclectic series of surreal romances, just as a natural disaster, a mysterious disease, and a bizarre political movement threaten to destabilize everything around them.
In 2025, Dina starts reading Euphorium on her first day at San Francisco State University, which has assigned incoming students to read and discuss the book. During her first week, Dina signs up for and starts an internship as a teaching assistant at a nearby public school, where she connects with Death, a student, after Death spots Dina’s copy of Euphorium, which is Death’s favorite book. Death’s teacher, however, finds the book inappropriate, and when Death’s guardians learn about the interaction and complain, Dina is immediately cut from the program. Overnight, Dina’s firing becomes a national political flashpoint, putting Dina, Death, and the city of San Francisco at the bloody center of the American war of (on?) ideas.
Finally, in 2005, 15 strangers gather in a remote mountain valley to compete on a big-budget reality competition show loosely based on the (real) Sensorium book series, written in the 1980s and widely beloved for its crystal-ball prescience and mind-melting plotlines. But when one of the contestants drops out just before filming begins, the show’s producers decide to put in one of their own: Genesis. Reluctantly, Genesis prepares to endure four weeks of the psychologically and physically brutal trials she’d just spent months designing for the show, which will be her only advantage against 14 fiercely competitive firebrands.
But as the producers of the show push the emotional stakes to the limits for the cameras, she and her fellow players begin to lose track of what is and isn’t part of the show—and what is and isn’t real."
